The PADI Drysuit Specialty Course is an enjoyable and secure way to learn how to dive comfortably in a drysuit. Diving in a drysuit allows you to explore the breathtaking Northern BC dive sites and the chilly, emerald waters of British Columbia with greater ease and comfort. With proper training, you’ll find the transition to drysuit diving not only fun but also cozy—guaranteeing you stay warm underwater!

- All necessary scuba equipment, including Aqualung Fusion Drysuit and high-performance.
- Flexible scheduling options
- Small student-to-instructor ratio – Northern Underwater Explorers commits to a ratio of no more than 3 students per instructor to enhance your experience
- Base layer undergarments and a couple of pairs of warm socks. Thin Merino wool, polypropylene, or polyester work best; avoid cotton.
- Optional Dry Socks Upgrade – Super warm ScubaForce X-Sox are available for students at a discounted price of $89 (regularly $99)
- Optional Dry Glove Upgrade – Wetsuit gloves are included, but students may purchase Marigold Gloves to use as dry gloves. Marigold Gloves are part of a standard dry glove system. When combined with fleece glove liners, this system keeps your hands warm in local waters. If you already have fleece gloves, you can simply purchase the Marigolds. Northern Underwater Explorers also offers high-quality Scuba Force glove liners if you need fleece gloves.
Socks and glove systems can be purchased as Add-Ons during the online course registration process.
THE NORTHERN UNDERWATER EXPLORERS EXPERIENCE...
At Northern Underwater Explorers, we pride ourselves on our seasoned and highly qualified instructors who place a strong emphasis on safety and exceptional training. In addition to teaching you how to operate a drysuit, your instructor will provide guidance on improving your descents and ascents, buoyancy control, trim, and advanced finning techniques.
We conduct this program on an individual basis, offering the flexibility to schedule training on weekends or weekdays. Occasionally, we may include additional students in the course, but we maintain a strict maximum of 3 students per instructor to ensure personalized attention.
Course Prerequisites
- Open Water Diver/Junior Open Water Diver (or other qualifying certification)
- Minimum age of 12 years
- Recent diving experience within the last 12 months. If you haven’t participated in a dive within that time frame, please contact Northern Underwater Explorers before registering.

Mask & Snorkel Requirements
For reasons of fit, comfort, and hygiene, courses do not include a mask and snorkel. Therefore, students are required to provide their own personal mask and snorkel for the program.
Northern Underwater Explorers students receive a 15% discount on all diving masks and snorkels.
