Looking for a Fun and Engaging Summer Activity for Your Kids? Enroll them in a 5-day PADI Open Water Youth Camp! Our camp is the most exciting and unique summer experience available in Northern BC.
Course overview
Our camps run from Monday to Friday, where participants will learn the fundamentals of scuba diving in
the pool and progress to 4 thrilling ocean dives. Successful completion of the camp will earn them the
globally recognized PADI Open Water Diver certification.
- Knowledge development sessions will be held at Northern Underwater Explorers.
- Pool dives and open water dives will take place offsite.
- Minimum age to participate is 12 years old.
- Students must weigh at least 100 lbs (45 kg) to ensure proper equipment fit and carry the weight of the gear.
- Participants must visit Northern Underwater Explorers before the camp starts to collect their PADI Open Water Manual.
- Important paperwork, including a Medical Statement, must be completed prior to the start of camp.
- Parents or guardians are required to attend a brief orientation on the first day of camp (15 minutes).
- Equipment is included (see below for details on the Mask and Snorkel Requirement).
- Transportation to the pool and ocean sites is provided.
- Students can upgrade to earn their Drysuit Specialty certification for an additional $229.95, which includes one additional dive during the course. The regular price for the Drysuit Specialty is $499.99.
MASK & SNORKEL REQUIREMENTS
For reasons of fit, comfort, and hygiene, courses do not include a mask and
snorkel. Therefore, students are required to provide their own personal mask and snorkel for the
program.
Northern Underwater Explorers students receive a 15% discount on all diving masks and
snorkels.
MEDICAL STATEMENT
All students must complete a Medical Statement prior to any in-water activities. If you answer “yes” to any of the medical questions, please consult with Northern Underwater Explorers, as you may need to see a physician before starting the course.

Students must complete a 200 m free swim or a 300 m swim with mask, snorkel, and fins, plus a 10-
minute float as part of the course requirements. If you’re uncertain about meeting this requirement,
please contact us for assistance.
Note: Individuals not meeting the swimming requirement will not be eligible for a refund. Please see our
